Mood may be viewed as transient, fluctuating affective states reflecting how individuals feel at a moment in time. Previous research has indicated improvement of moods in college students through participation in physical activity courses. However, current trends show a decline in college student participation in colleges and universities mandating a physical activity requirement for graduation. The Profile of Mood States (POMS) to capture mood, a sample of 328 college students (243 males and 135 females), enrolled in five different university physical activity classes (badminton, basketball, bowling, cycling, and soccer) to assess mood responses post physical activity. Study results indicated that when college students were physically active, tension was relieved, anger lowered, fatigue lessened, depression reduced, personal satisfaction improved, and vigour increased.
